Sustainability Management

The EAH (Establishment of Accommodation and Lodging) must design, implement, maintain, evaluate and improve management for sustainability, with records or evidence to demonstrate compliance with the following requirements:

Sustainability Management

The EAH (Establishment of Accommodation and Lodging) must design, implement, maintain, evaluate and improve management for sustainability, with records or evidence to demonstrate compliance with the following requirements:

AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

Have a leader.

Define the responsibilities in the organization that guarantee compliance with the requirements of this standard.

Establish rights and duties of employees, suppliers, customers and guests in their commitment to sustainability.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must identify and document the legal requirements that apply to it and periodically evaluate their compliance.

SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

The EAH (Establishment of Accommodation and Lodging) must define in a participatory manner within the organization, a sustainability policy that:

  1. Include your commitment to the maintenance or improvement of positive environmental, socio-cultural and economic impacts and the management, minimization or elimination of those negative impacts generated or related to the development of your activity.

IDENTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIOCULTURAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS AND IMPACTS

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

  1. Based on the activities it carries out or develops and the products or services it provides, identify its environmental, socio-cultural and economic aspects.
  2. Based on the identification of these aspects, carry out an impact assessment that allows determining the priorities for action and includes environmental, socio-cultural and economic considerations focused on sustainability.

 

MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS FOR SUSTAINABILITY

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

  1. From the identification of significant aspects and impacts, have programs focused on environmental, sociocultural and economic sustainability, which include at least objectives, activities, goals (quantifiable; when applicable, attainable and measurable), resources, responsible, deadlines and indicators for its achievement and monitoring, taking into account at least:

INFORMATION AND AWARENESS

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

  1. Have an information and awareness program for clients, guests and collaborators, aimed at promoting and disseminating good sustainability practices.
  2. Train employees to comply with the requirements of the standard.

DOCUMENTATION AND RECORDS

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

Have at least the documented procedures for the following numbers:

3.2 Identification and update of legal requirements.

3.4 Identification of environmental, sociocultural and economic aspects and impacts.

PREPARATION AND ANSWER TO THE EMERGENCIES

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must have the emergency and contingency plan in accordance with the applicable current legislation

 

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

The EAH (Accommodation and Lodging Establishment) must:

 

  1. Permanently carry out actions aimed at maintaining and improving sustainability management.
  2. Monitor and follow up the sustainability management programs, which will ensure compliance with the sustainability policy and other requirements of the standard.
